WICHITA, Kan. – July 11, 2008— BG Products, Inc., introduces new BG Mass Air Flow Sensor Cleaner as a method to restore a vehicle’s MPG. BG has devised a solution to Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor failure, which can lead to over-fueling and lower fuel mileage.

The MAF sensor is a vital fuel system component, which measures the volume of combustion air used by an engine. When contaminated by deposit buildup, MAF sensors can cause a host of engine problems, like engine knock, lean misfire, poor throttle response and reduced fuel economy.

Normally the MAF sensor is super-heated at engine shutdown in an effort to burn off light deposits. However, stubborn deposits are immune to this cleaning and are not always removed. When this happens, MAF sensor replacement is required. This can be a time-consuming and expensive solution.
